Well, it’s that time of the month again no not that one! Where, in my obsessive compulsive nature, I feel the need to compile a list of every song that has kidnapped my brain for the past 30 days so you too can experience my nerdy, nerdy joy :-)
Unfortunately, this month, I happened to be enthralled by a few songs that have yet to grace the presence of iTunes (or pretty much any other playlist-making site). Therefore, I have just created a text Playlist on www.FIQL.com and linked each song [in the description] to its respective YouTube video link (except for #11). This way, instead of just hearing 30 seconds of ‘Why-the-heck-did-they-pick-this-segment-to-represent-the-song?’, you can hear the entire thing! And for those of you who just want a list of the songs without clicking a link you’re lazy, I bring you…
INFINITE SOUNDS: A MAY ‘10 PLAYLIST
Gasoline - The Dead Weather
Infinity Guitars - Sleigh Bells
We Don’t Want Your Body - Stars
Undisclosed Desires - Muse
Your Hands (Together) - The New Pornographers
King of Spain - The Tallest Man on Earth
A Cautionary Song - The Decemberists
Slow Show - The National
Sweetness - Micah P Hinson
Come and Find Me - Josh Ritter
Infinite Arms - Band of Horses
Holocaust - Big Star
Avenue of Hope - I Am Kloot
2s and 3s - Micah P Hinson
Sunshine (Adagio in D Minor) - John Murphy
Death is the Road to Awe - Clint Mansell
I hope you enjoyed the list! And if you didn’t… well I honestly couldn’t care less you can suck it :-) To each his own, no?
Now go listen to some amazing music (if not mine, then something else you enjoy) Cheers, all!
Micah P. Hinson’s newest album, “… and the Pioneer Saboteurs" (released May 24th) is, I am predicting, going to be one of 2010’s best records! It’s so much more than Americana… more than ‘country’… more than simple Indie. A young artist with the gravitas of someone twice his age, he seems to flawlessly channel the spirit of Tom Waits like no other modern folk-rocker to date.
